In 1999 I experienced a colleteral personal crisis period after the earthquake in Istanbul - followed by business, economic and family issues.
I found a quote about past, which I wrote in that time:
"While looking behind you, you might fall over that, which is in front of you."
In the bestselling book "Fish!" by Stephen C. Lundin there is a passage about past:
"The past is history,
the future a mystery,
but today, is a gift to us.“
Harold MacMillan said once ... :
"The past should be a springboard, but not a couch."
Dr. Richard Bandler, the genius behind NLP (Neuro- Linguistic Programming®) mentioned in the 80’s: "The best thing about the past is that it is over!" Bandler added by claiming, the only reason looking back should be searching something useful for your goals. Considering past is not equal to future, he underlines full responsibility for the individual to choose what is worth to carry over.
Well, the Corona year 2020 will be „past“ soon. In German it would be described like: „Ein Jahr zum vergessen“ („a year to forget“) :))
I wish you wisdom by choosing some moments to carry and/or use as springboards. For the rest remember... it’s over!
Make it happen and stay healthy!
